How to play

Recap on the Basics

Cribbage is a classic point-based card game. Each player cuts the deck for deal; low card wins. In a two-player game, each player throws 2 of their 6 cards into the dealer’s “Crib”. The player who didn’t deal cuts the deck, and the dealer draws the “Cut Card”. This is the card that is shared between both players to create points with the players’ hands.

The next step in regular cribbage is the pegging round, where players use their cards to add up to 31. For example: Player one puts down a 10, and Player two puts down a 9, and so on. This round ends when all players have used all of their cards.

The player who did not deal counts their hand first. After this, the dealer counts their hand and crib, and the round ends.

The process repeats (with each player alternating dealer) until someone reaches 121 points and the game ends.

Cribbagio Mechanics
While in addition to starting a game of Cribbage as normal.

Place the PEG CLASS CARDS (white), BUFF CARDS (red), and CURSE CARDS (black) face down into 3 separate piles.

At the start of the game after you have drawn for the first crib, each player will draw 1 PEG CLASS CARD. The effect of that card will remain persistent for that player throughout the course of the game.

You will proceed to play cribbage as normal in addition to the effect of your PEG CLASS CARD. When a player or team has crossed 30, 60, and 90 points. (does not apply to the opposing player or team, they will need to reach the thresholds themselves)

They will proceed to draw 1 card from both the BUFF CARD and CURSE CARD decks. you can pass 30, 60, and 90 multiple times a game if you do draw 1 card from both buff and curse card decks.

Once receiving a BUFF CARD or CURSE CARD these cards can ONLY be played after the cut card has been shown and before the pegging phase has begun.

Curse and Buff cards are played in Succession, which is the order of when a player can play their curse/buff cards, whomever is dealt first in a round gets priority of play. (left of dealer, dealer gets last play)
